Optimization of Rubber Fender of LNG Terminal

LNG terminal could berth conventional membrane-type Moss LNG carriers with tank capacity of more than 16 times; 104 m3 ,but could not berth Moss LNG carriers with tank capacity of less than 16 × 104 m3 under extreme conditions. The reasons were analyzed. By comparing the design parameters of jetty rubber fenders at different LNG terminals,the optimization research of rubber fenders was carried out, and the optimization scheme of rubber fenders was put forward. The OPTMIOOR software was used to analyze the mooring before and after fender optimization,and the applicability of the optimization scheme was theoretically verified. After the optimization of the jetty fender,Zhoushan terminal safely berthed and unloaded 6 carriers with tank capacity of less than 16 times; 104 m3 , which verified the applicability of the fender optimization scheme in practice.

The design unit has reviewed the hydraulic structure of the pier in accordance with Option 3, and the results show that the structural design can meet the modified force requirements.
